Northfield might seem quiet now but it has an interesting and quarrelsome post. Jesse James and his brothers attempted to rob First National Bank that ultimately got them kicked out of town. If you want to learn more about the bank raid, head to the Northfield Historical Society Museum. Consider going to St. Olaf College. They have a world renowned music program and you and your family can enjoy free public recitals and concerts. If exploring nature is on your radar, be sure to go Nerstrand Big Woods State Park. In the spring they have a magnificent display of spring flowers.
